How I Made 100K – And Lost It the Same Way

How I Made 100K – And Lost It the Same Way

I made my first 100K chasing money.

And I lost it the exact same way.

Chasing money.

That’s not something people like to admit. Most only talk about the win, never the lesson. But the lesson is the part that actually matters.

How I Got It

When I first started making real money, my whole mindset was:

More. Faster. Now.

I said yes to everything.
Every opportunity.
Every side hustle.
Every quick flip.

I stayed busy.
I stayed moving.
I stayed tired.

From the outside it looked like discipline.
Inside, it was obsession.

Money became the scoreboard.
Every dollar felt like proof I was doing something right.

But I wasn’t building.

I was chasing.

When Hustle Turned Into a Trap

At some point, it stopped being about growth and started being about validation.

• How much did I make this month?
• Who sees me winning?
• What’s the next play?

I started moving faster than I could think.
I stopped asking why and only cared about how much.

That’s when cracks started showing.

Short-term wins.
Long-term damage.

When money becomes the mission,
you lose your direction.

How I Lost It

I didn’t lose it because I got lazy.
I lost it because I got blind.

I made rushed decisions.
Ignored red flags.
Moved off ego.
Chased quick returns.

No structure.
No long-term plan.
Just motion.

And motion without direction will run you straight into a wall.

The Wake-Up Call

Losing it forced me to sit still.

And sitting still showed me things hustle never let me see:

• my habits
• my patterns
• my weak spots
• my ego

I had to admit something hard:

I wasn’t building wealth.
I was gambling on momentum.

The Shift

That’s when everything changed.

I stopped chasing money
and started building systems.

I focused on:
• discipline
• consistency
• long-term vision
• self-mastery

Money stopped being the goal.
It became the byproduct.

That’s a big difference.

What I Learned

Money doesn’t change you.
It reveals you.

If you’re reckless, money makes you more reckless.
If you’re disciplined, money amplifies it.

I had to become someone who could hold success,
not just touch it.

Why This Matters

A lot of people think:

“If I just make more money, everything will change.”

It won’t.

Your habits come with you.
Your mindset comes with you.
Your discipline (or lack of it) comes with you.

BTRU Energy

BTRU isn’t about chasing money.

It’s about:
• building identity
• mastering yourself
• playing the long game
• becoming dangerous with discipline

Money will come.

But if you chase it,
you’ll always be running.

Final Thought

I’m grateful I lost it.

Because now I know:

Fast money teaches you hustle.
Losing it teaches you wisdom.

And wisdom lasts longer than cash ever will.
