The Weirdest Thing I’ve Learned Selling Shirts

The Weirdest Thing I’ve Learned Selling Shirts

One of the biggest surprises of building BTRU has been discovering who the customers actually are.

At first glance, they don’t seem to have much in common.

Different ages.

Different races.

Different professions.

Different backgrounds.

Some are entrepreneurs.

Some are employees.

Some are creators.

Some are students.

Yet despite all those differences, one pattern keeps showing up.

They’re all building something.

A business.

A dream.

A skill.

A career.

A future.

The details change, but the mindset remains the same.

This observation completely changed how I think about customer profiles.

Traditional marketing focuses on demographics.

The field taught me to focus on identity.

People may look different on the surface, but what unites them is often much deeper.

BTRU isn’t attracting a specific demographic.

It’s attracting a specific mentality.

And that mentality is the builder mindset.
